Day 4 in Changers!

Tuesday - 3 June 08

Hello one and all. Day 4 in Chiang Mai and having a great time. Up early again this morning just itching to get out and about and explore some more. Spent the morning catching up with emails and other business then room moved to our new room up on the 5th floor with twin beds but a tv that has all channels working which keeps Rick happy as he can watch his Bloomberg channel. No time for breakfast this morning we were caught up doing other things and missing out on food isn't going to harm 'US' in anyway.

We did have an early lunch to compensate though and then walked our big buts off to the boat wharf to enquire about the Mae Ping river cruise for tomorrow. It looks a good 2 hour cruise so we will be doing that one tomorrow for sure. On our walk back we explored another part of the city we haven't seen and came across another little guesthouse at the back of the Night bazaar markets so out of curiosity we asked to have a look and the price. Rick got the lady down to 400 baht ($13 Aud) per night if you pay for a week and it was quite a nice clean room, air con, tv, hot water and linen, in a quiet little place, so for people looking for cheap but good accommodation it would be a good place. We are very happy at our hotel and we have just booked another 4 nights on their promotion of Pay 3 stay 4 which means we are getting our room for 525 baht per night which is about $25 Aus, bargain!

We veged this arvo looking at tourist brochures picking out the places to see and things to do and there is so much I hope we can fit it all in over the next 3 weeks. Again today we had another storm and some heavy rain, which is the usual here at this time of year, it was over in no time. I have to say that Chiang Mai is much much cooler than south and so much more pleasant to walk the steets when you aren't sweating your butt off.

Went out for early dinner at the food court which is so cheap, we had a 2 course meal for about 100 baht each and it was so tasty. We are both enjoying the food and the difference in the food between each different region in Thailand.

Well not much else happening, an early night just hanging out in our room and watching tele. Hopefully tomorrow will have more photos to upload to this blog so stay tuned...........
