Greetings from Koh Samui

Wednesday - 21 May 08

Hi to everyone out there who is still reading our daily blog and not yawning over it yet. We are settled in and having a great time here on Samui.

We are doing our usual things now that we are in complete holiday mode and are so relaxed we are almost in comas. We have decided to stay the extra week and will moving on Saturday to our new swish (free) accommodation a little further up the road thanks to our Absolute travel club which we took membership with on our first trip over here 2 years ago. So that will 2 free weeks we will be using on this trip, our extra week here and our final week at Kamala Beach before we head back to Australia.

Today we took a long walk to grandmother and grandfather rock which is a small tourist spot here in Lamai Beach. The rock formations are that of a female and male genitals which makes for interesting photos and postcards. We then did our usual daily walk along Lamai Beach from our Bungalow to the hub of Lamai where all the bars and restaurants are, unfortunately none of the restaurants open until evening and we were 'yet again' hungry and had to eat at McDonalds as it was the only place open and we now and again need a break from rice and noodles.

We had a good look around the restaurants and street stalls but nothing has really caught our eye in the shopping department although I could do with a couple of light beach dresses with this heat and humidity. I think a tuk tuk into Chewang maybe the go. Hopefully tomorrow. We took the long walk back along the beach to our bungalow and by this time it was early arvo which seems to be the hottest part of the day and the humidity is stifling. As usual when we got back on went the air con and we had our usual Nanny & Poppy snooze. We had a wicked afternoon thunderstorm and it was quite cyclonic and went for around 2 hours, the gardens and pathways around the bungalows were like rivers and we were getting a bit worried that we might not be able to get our for dinner. The storm eventually cleared and with all the wind and rain cooled the place down quite a lot and there was a nice seabreeze to do our usual walk up to the local cooking house for dinner. A stop at the local internet cafe to update our blog and home again to see what is raging on the television.

Thanks to Kez for the update on the Bold & Beautiful, seems I am not missing anything and it won't take much watching when I get back to know that. To all of you who have been emailing us letting us know you have been reading the blog, and haven't yet found it yawning material thank you also, it makes it worth the trip to the internet cafe everynight.

So until tomorrow, we bid you goodnight!!!!
