How Nice is Koh Samui

Tuesday - 20 May 08

What a relaxing day we have had today in Koh Samui. It really is paradise. The good thing about it is its low season and there are not a lot of tourists and its very peaceful. We are settling in well to our little bungalow and loving it. The bed is so comfortable and we are so relaxed we slept well last night as it was like sleeping on clouds. We were awake early this morning and laid in bed drinking our coffee and watching, get this, the bloomberg channel (the stockmarket) I am surprised! (Not) Onya Rick.

We went for a long long walk along Lamai Beach this morning and it was absolutely wonderful. The beach is lined with bungalows and resorts, bars and restaurants and the water was clear and smooth. We walked so far we thought we would get lost, we found our way off the beach and onto a street and followed that street and guess what? We found a McDonalds so guess where we had breakfast. We walked further along this street, after breakfast, and it was lined with bars and western restaurants, shops and market stalls, woo hoo. Have to head back there! We found our way from there back to the main drag and back to our bungalow stopping at he 7/11 to stock up on supplies.

We dropped off our washing to the lady at our bungalows to do for us as its only 30 baht ($1 Aus) a kilo and we had a bit to do, probably cost us $3 all up. The rest of the day we relaxed in our bungalow in the air con. Catching up on our rest and just enjoying the peace and time at the internet.

Tonight we took a stroll up to our little restaurant for an early dinner and we were the only one's there, we ordered light, sticky rice and Rick had his Pork Spare ribs and I thought its a while since I had my Tofu so I had Tofu with fried basil, well the lady said it was a little spicy and I said thats ok, I don't mind. Idiot!!!! It was so spicy I dread to think what I am going to suffer tomorrow and what Rick will suffer tonight being in the same bed, a ring of fire I'm sure.

Tonight it is a full moon so there is a huge full moon party on Samui Beach, so while everyone is out raging at the full moon party we will tucked up in our bungalow, like a couple of old grannies enjoying the air con and the bloomberg channel no doubt. Hey has anyone got an update on the Bold and Beautiful?

So we have had an excellent day in Samui and can't ask for anymore relaxation than we are getting. So until tomorrow.

La kon
