Last full day in Koh Samui - Oh NO!!!!!

Friday - 30 May 08

Sawasdee Ka to one and all. Hope you all enjoyed the photos posted on the blog, sorry they are a bit all over the place but I will work on getting it right.

Well today being our last day here was spent enjoying the last of our luxury resort, at least until we get to Kamala Beach near the end of our trip. From tomorrow its back to backpacking and budget accommodation which is going to be a little hard to take for the next month. Oh Well!

We slept in this morning for once and all our Japanese neighbours were up early and they are not the quietest people when they are getting ready to leave. We headed off to our healthy breakfast and then decided to just hang out here for the day and then go into Chewang tonight for dinner.

To Chase Malakai, our last grandchild, who is 1 year old today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Love you and wish we were there to celebrate your first birthday.

Well we did our last wash in the Jacuzzi this morning and its been the best washing machine. It doesn't take long for things to dry here with the heat and humidity. We headed off by Songteaw into Chaweng this evening and we got the ride cheap for once, 100 baht. We had dinner at the Islander restaurant which is an aussie place we have been to a couple of times. We had a roast and I have to say it wasn't all that crash hot but we felt we needed to have some meat and veg. We were going to take our last walk around afterwards through the markets and street stalls but just as we were leaving the restaurant it decided to poor rain, so that put paid to that so we waited and when it eased hailed a Songteaw to come back to the resort, to come back it cost 150 baht which we had to haggle to get it. We can't work it out, same distance, same place, different price. Gets me!

Tonight we are just sorting and packing our backpacks ready to leave tomorrow for Chiang Mai. Our Thai airways flight leaves at 1.35pm and we arrive at Changers at 4.05pm so its not too long a flight. We haven't booked accommodation and will just search it out when we arrive, even if we just get something for a night until we have time to find good value accommodation.

We are looking forward to checking out Chiang Mai but not looking forward to leaving Samui. This is our second time here in 6 months on the island and its just the best. Hopefully we will get back here in the not too distant future because its just absolutely beautiful

Anyway better go and finished getting organised. Our next post will be from Chiang Mai, so stay tuned.!!!!!!!!
