Last Day!!!

Here we are our last day in Kanchanburi. Its sad but exciting to move on to somewhere new.

I was up early to get organised as we have to check out at 12 noon which has now been extended to 1pm as our laundry still isn't dry and we need it to finish packing our backpacks. Not to worry, they extended our check out so that was cool.

We are off to Bangers (Bangkok) today and our mini bus picks us up at 1.30pm it will be a two hour drive into Khao San road which is where the bus will drop us off. Apparently Khao san rod is the hub of Bangkok but is also where all the sleezy bars and what have you are. From there we will catch a taxi to the train station (name I can't pronounce). Our overnight train to Nong Khai doesn't leave until 8.45pm so we will put our backpacks into lockers and have a look around Bangers for a couple of hours. Our train gets into Nong Khai at 9am tomorrow morning so lucky for us we booked a 1st class sleeper compartment so we can get some shut eye for the long trip. We haven't booked any accommodation as we want to check the place out and look for good cheap accommodation and as its not tourist season there should be plenty.

This will be our first day as official backpackers and it will be interesting to see how we go. As we will be travelling all night I thought I would do this blog for today early as we probably won't get to an internet cafe until late tomorrow.

I have to say again, we have had a wicked time here in Kanchanaburi and we hope to one day get back here again. Its been a pleasure to stay here, look around and meet some really nice and interesting people. No wonder westerners come here to live.
